Our story - A dream of nurturing dreams
Our Story
Some years back, the Young Volunteer Club (YVC) organized a free training course for street children. The opening date was drawing closer, however, there was still a vacant slot. A girl who was a volunteer at that time wondered if she did not give it a try then, a chance of changing a life of a person would be missed. The words, "if this was the last chance" repeated again in her mind. At the end of the day, through the rain and cold wind that night, she cycled around Hanoi knocking on doors at labor villages under bridges, slums and asked if any child wanted to join in the training course. Many shook their heads and even, putting up "do not disturb" notices on their doors but still, she kept her hope alive. Early next morning, she arrived back to her dormitory feeling exhausted, yet there was still no one was convinced to be part of the course.
The next morning, a shoe shining boy came into the classroom. He had listened to her despite the laughter of his friends, so he decided to join in the class. A year later, he met her to say goodbye to join the military service. He would go on and fulfill a dream of becoming a useful person in this society with the skills he had learned in the course and never lived a street life again. Though many years had passed, the dream of that day is still living and inspiring that girl with her friends to build up Blue Dream Volunteer - a very active volunteering club in 2002 to support thousands of unfortunate children and start LivingDream in 2016. The time of being teachers for many homeless children helped her become stronger. She appreciated her street students for sharing their colorful dreams and teaching her how to treasure each and every moment, keeping smiles in difficulties, to give with empty hands and keep hope.
Our world is nurtured by the beautiful dreams. Dreams see us through difficulties and lead mankind towards great revolutions.
As there are millions of dreams needing to be cared, LivingDream should reach to many people soon to answer the call of lonely dream chasers.
